WELCOME! May God’s love be in us and around us so no one feels like a stranger and all know that they are children of our Creator. Everyone is invited to join in the church basement after the morning service for a time of fellowship, cookies, and coffee.


—Next Sunday, February 12, we plan to celebrate the Lord’s Supper during the morning service.

Congregation: To shorten the lines for our Coffee/Fellowship Time and for those who sit by the tables -- there will be carafes of coffee and cups available on the tables in the basement.

It is time for the annual Sweetheart Dinner which will be held on Saturday, February 11 and the last day to sign up for the dinner is today following the morning service in the church
basement. Check out our expanded menu and sign up for a cozy dinner for two or get a
group of friends together for a fun and delicious dinner.

Ladies’ Bible Study: At our next meeting, Tuesday, February 7, we will be putting together boxes for college students who are living away from home. We will be doing 3 boxes.
There is a sheet of ideas on the shelf in the narthex.

Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet on Thursday, February 9 from 2:30-4:30 at Bev Horinga’s home. Check out the details in the February Newsletter.

Cadet Snow Derby will be held on Saturday, January 11 at 8:30 am at the Horinga Farm
(8315 Polk Street). Dress appropriately because we will be outside all morning. Dinner will
be served. Bring a can of vegetable or noodle soup, a cup and a spoon.

There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex for food donations for the Sweetheart Dinner.

From Council: The process of nominating Elders and Deacons to serve our congregation
is beginning. Please pray for leading for our Council as they are considering and praying for
those who will serve our congregation. If any members of the congregation have any input, please talk to one of the Elders.

Jr. High Youth Group Schedule:


Friday, February 10 - Set Up for the Sweetheart Dinner from 6:30-8:30 pm.
Eat before you come.

Saturday, February 11 - Sweetheart Dinner — be at church at 4:30 pm.
Dress in your Sunday best.

3-Point Schedule:

Saturday, February 18 - We will be working at a soup kitchen and then watching
a movie/having a discussion at church when we return. More details and time
to follow!

Saturday, March 24 - Spaghetti Dinner with ‘Minute to Win It’ games to follow!

The Family Life Center and Lakeshore Pregnancy Center demonstrate Christ’s love to
women with unplanned pregnancies. These ministries are dedicated to providing support
for those who choose life. If you would like to support their mission, there is a collection spot
at the bottom of the stairs for your donations. Especially needed right now: diapers (size 1, 2,
and 5), wipes, baby wash and lotion, Desitin, trash bags, ziplock bags, toilet paper, paper towels,
and for the new moms at FLC: gas and phone cards. Thank you for your support!

SCHOOL NEWS:

-Allendale Christian School Paper Drive in school’s front parking lot on February 10 & 11.

-Allendale Christian School’s 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament is March 24. This event is for
boys and girls in grades 3-8. Everyone is invited to join the fun. It will be held at the Allendale
Public High School for grades 5-8 and at Allendale Christian School for grades 3-4. Registration
forms are due by March 2 and are available at Allendale Christian School or on their website at
allendalechristian.com. For questions please contact Stephanie Stevens at 895-5857.

-Borculo Christian School Kids’ Clothing & Toy Sale (spring and summer items) will be held
on March 3 from 9:00 am - Noon in the school’s gym.



REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS:

-Michelle Jannssen and Kathy Demers will once again be leading a trip to Guatemala on
August 14-22. There will be an information meeting on February 7 at 7:00 pm at Lighthouse
Community Church. Attendance at the informational meeting will not commit you to the trip,
but gives you an opportunity to have your questions answered and allows plans to begin.
