Next Sunday, May 16, we plan to celebrate the Lord’s Supper during the morning service.

 

Our last day of Sunday School is Sunday, May 16.  We plan to have ice cream sundaes.

 

Amplify! meets on Sunday, May 16 at 6:30 pm.  We will have a lesson and a light dinner.  We are planning an outdoor activity, weather permitting.  Please dress accordingly.

Congregation:  Council is asking the Worship Committee to balance our morning services with half traditional and half contemporary songs.  Worship Committee is working on the details of how to execute this plan and will be presenting a plan to Council for approval.  If anyone has any input, feel free to talk to someone on Council.

 

Martial Arts is looking for a Coordinator.  Responsibilities are:  collecting donations, buying equipment, helping with attendance, and attending each Wednesday for classes from 5:00-6:00 pm.  If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Pastor Aaron.

 

From Council:  The following men have been chosen as Candidates for Elder and Deacon.

GEMS and Cadet Counselors:  We will need your help tonight, following the evening worship service, to set up for the derby races.  Thank You!

 

Cadet - GEMS Derby Races will be held on Monday, May 3 in the church basement.  Pizza and pop available at 6pm-7pm? by donation.  Profits will go to GEMS fund.  Weigh-in starts at 6:15 pm with races at 7:00 pm.  If you were involved in Cadets or GEMS last year, you have a chance to race your car this year.  There will not be an open class this year or and adult class.  Be sure to come out and cheer on your racer!  Also, badges and awards to be recognized.

 

Outreach is looking for 2 people to help serve food at the Clay Shoot on Saturday, May 8 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  We would also love to have some homemade desserts.  Six desserts are needed.  Please make them in disposable pans and bring them to church by 4:00 pm on Friday, May 7.  If you are able to help, sign the sheet on the shelf.  Thanks for your help.

 

Horseplay Equestrian will be the recipient of funds raised at North Blendon CRC’s 2nd Annual Clay Shoot at Blendon Pines on Saturday, May 8 at 8:30 am.   Your $50 ticket will include 50 clays, raffle entries, T-shirt and lunch.  Registration limited to the first 100 people.   Reserve your spot by contacting Tena Hassevoort at 616-516-2982 or pay via Venmo. 

 

Cadets:  Hanging basket orders will be available for you to pickup on Saturday, May 8, from 9:00-10:00 am for you to deliver.

Dates:  June 21-25, 2021

Ages:  3 years old - just completed 4th grade

 

 

VBS registration forms are in mailboxes today

Please pre-register your kids/grandkids/neighbors/friends

so we can have adequate supplies for our VBS week. 

We are asking that registration forms be turned in by Sunday, June 6

so we can order VBS t-shirts.

Please place registration forms in the basket on the shelf in the narthex.

Monday, April 26, is the Secret Grandmother Tea.  We will meet in the church basement from 6:30-9:00 pm.  A meal will be provided and the girls will get to meet the person who has been praying for them and sending cards and gifts.  Please let Deb Nyenbrink know if you are unable to make it so we can make other arrangement for your girl. 

 

Pray for our Council as they are in the process of selecting new Elders and Deacons.  Please pray for leading as they consider and pray for those who will serve our congregation.  If members of the congregation have any input, please talk to an Elder.

An Opportunity to Serve:  In order to reopen nursery and have it run smoothly we are in need of more volunteers.  Adults must be a high school graduate and/or 18.  Youth volunteers need to be in 5th grade or older.  If you need to watch the abuse prevention video a time can be arranged.  Please contact Sheri Bronkema (616-915-4538) if you are willing to serve in this way.

GEMS Fun Day!  We will meet in the church basement on Saturday, April 24 from 12:00-4:00 pm.  Lunch will be provided and we will be playing games, doing a fun craft, and finishing up a badge.

 

Monday, April 26, is the Secret Grandmother Tea.  We will meet in the church basement from 6:30-9:00 pm.  A meal will be provided and the girls will get to meet the person who has been praying for them and sending cards and gifts.  Please let Deb Nyenbrink know if you are unable to make it so we can make other arrangement for your girl.

 

Pray for our Council as they are in the process of selecting new Elders and Deacons.  Please pray for leading as they consider and pray for those who will serve our congregation.  If members of the congregation have any input, please talk to an Elder.

An Opportunity to Serve:  In order to reopen nursery and have it run smoothly we are in need of more volunteers.  Adults must be a high school graduate and/or 18.  Youth volunteers need to be in 5th grade or older.  If you need to watch the abuse prevention video a time can be arranged.  Please contact Sheri Bronkema (616-915-4538) if you are willing to serve in this way.

 

Cadet - GEMS Derby Races will be held on Monday, May 3 in the church basement.  Watch for more details to come.

 

Christian School Tuition Assistance of $645.00 per student has been sent to the schools.

 

Martial Arts is looking for a Coordinator.  Responsibilities are:  collecting donations, buying equipment, helping with attendance, and attending each Wednesday for classes from 5:00-6:00 pm.  If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Pastor Aaron.

 

Outreach is looking for 2 people to help serve food at the Clay Shoot on Saturday, May 8 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  We would also love to have some homemade desserts.  Six desserts are needed.  Please make them in disposable pans and bring them to church by 4:00 pm on Friday, May 7.  If you are able to help, sign the sheet on the shelf.  Thanks for your help.

 

Horseplay Equestrian will be the recipient of funds raised at North Blendon CRC’s 2nd annual Clay Shoot at Blendon Pines on Saturday, May 8 at 8:30 am.   For $45 (by April 19) or $50 after April 19, your ticket will include a round of 50 clays, raffle entries, T-shirt and lunch.  Registration limited to the first 100 people. Reserve your spot by contacting Tena Hassevoort at 616-516-2982 or pay via Venmo 

 

 

Danielle Hassevoort will be participating in a 5k in support of Right to Life on April 24.  You can show your support of LIFE by either joining her or sponsoring my walk with your donations.  If you would like to participate in the 5k (run or walk), there are registration forms in the back of church to fill out and bring with you; registration will start at 9:30 that morning.  If you are willing to sponsor her walk, there will also be an envelope at the back of church for donations or you can put it in my church mailbox.  If you are writing a check, please make it out to “Right to Life.”  You can also show your support by being in prayer for this important cause in the fight for these precious lives.  Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves.”  As one of your Right To Life reps, I truly appreciate your support!  If you have any questions, please let me know! - Danielle Hassevoort.

Tarnished Brass’ will be with us for our evening worship service.  They will be playing the prelude, postlude, and joining the organist for our congregational singing.  Invite family and friends to join together at this service.

The Cadets are holding their Flower Sale this year!  Flowers can be ordered from any Cadet.  Deadline to order is today.  There are order forms in the back of church and on the Cadet table in the basement).  All flowers are 10” hanging baskets for $15.  There are many varieties to choose from.  The flowers will be delivered on Saturday, May 8, just in time for Mother’s Day!
