This week, Zeeland Schools decided to go entirely virtual for the coming weeks. The Executive Committee met last night and decided to follow our closing policy and go virtual as well. All in-person church activities are cancelled through the end of November. Prayers and sermons will be posted online so we can continue to be in the Word and prayer together. Executive Committee will be meeting virtually on November 30 about how to proceed thereafter.

In these disappointing and uncertain times where we disagree about how best to proceed, let us continue to persevere and to “walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1-3).

November 8, 2020

Welcome!  We are brothers and sisters in the Lord.  May this worship service fill us all with confidence and hope as we prepare for the week ahead.

-Today, during our morning worship service, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.  Visitors, if you are a church member in good standing and have professed your faith in Christ Jesus publicly, we invite you to come to the table of our Lord with us.

Banner Symbolism:  The bread (wafer circle) and wine (chalice) are shown in combination with the natural elements of wheat and grapes.  The red cross symbolizes the blood of Jesus shed for the forgiveness of sins.

-Everyone is invited to join together in the church basement following our morning worship service for a time of cookies, coffee/punch, and fellowship.

-Tonight’s service will be held in the Fellowship Room of North Blendon Reformed Church.

Help Outreach bless a family in need with a Thanksgiving dinner. Downstairs are 15 boxes, one for each family we are helping out this year.  On each box is a list of items needed to feed that family.  Pull off a tag, buy the items listed and place the purchased items back in the box with the tag attached.  Please put turkeys and pies in the freezer - if freezer in the church kitchen is full, put turkeys and pies in the freezer that is in the storage room in the church basement (Classroom #1).   Please have the items to church by Sunday, November 15th.  If you have any questions, talk to a member of the Outreach Committee. Thanks for your help in loving our neighbors.

Is your shoebox ready?  REMEMBER!  Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection deadline is NEXT SUNDAY, November 15.  Here are suggested items to include and not include in your box:

DO include toys, dolls, stuffed animals, jump ropes, school supplies, toothbrush, socks, mild bar soap (in a Ziploc bag), hair clips, sewing kits, tool sets, the possibilities are endless.

DO NOT include toothpaste, candy, breakable items, liquids or lotions, chocolate or food, toy guns, knives, military figures, or war related items.

November 15 is the deadline to bring in shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Don’t forget to include $9 for each shoebox to cover the cost of shipping.  You may write a check to NBCRC Sunday School or include cash (and we will send one big check), or write your check to Samaritan’s Purse or make your donation online and follow your box around the world.  There are shoeboxes and labels available on the Sunday School table in the church basement.  Please contact Jill von Dobschutz or Becky Sorensen with any questions.

Pig-in-the-Blankets have been restocked.  They are $12 a dozen and the money can be put in the can on top of the freezer.

Come to our Thanksgiving Day Service on Thursday, November 26 at 9:30 am.  Our church will be collecting non-perishable items for Love I.N.C. on Thanksgiving Day.  Bring your bag of donations on Thanksgiving Day and place in the front of the sanctuary prior to the service.  In today’s bulletin is a form that you can write what you are thankful for this year and we will include your items of thanks in our Thanksgiving prayer.  Fill out a form and place it in the box in the narthex.

Is your shoebox ready?  Here is a list of suggested items to include and not include in your box:

Please contact Jill vonDobschutz or Becky Sorensen with any questions.

Please help Outreach bless a family in need with a Thanksgiving dinner. Downstairs are 15 boxes, one for each family we are helping out this year. On each box is a list of items needed to feed that family.  Pull off a tag, buy the items listed and place the purchased items back in the box with the tag attached. Please put the turkey and pies in the freezer.   Please have the items to church by Sunday, November 15th.  If you have any questions, talk to a member of the Outreach Committee. Thanks for your help in loving our neighbors.

The November/December Today is on the shelf in the back of church.  Pick one up today!

World Renew Gift Catalogs are available on the Missionary Table in the back of church.  What a wonderful way to give to others and make an impact on their life!  Look through the catalog at the many items that can be purchased and get your family involved in choosing what to give.  If you want, you may make a purchase and honor a friend or a loved one.  Pick up a catalog today and check it out!
