Sunday School is looking for teachers for the coming year

We need teachers for the following grades:

                                   2nd & 3rd Grade (every other week)

                                   8th & 9th Grade (every week or every other week)

                                   Music leader (every week or every other week)

        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     Question:  What does it take to be a Sunday School teacher?
      Answer:  Only a love for God and the desire to see His kingdom grow!
      Are you willing to help God’s kingdom grow within our church?
     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

     Teachers must be passionate about growing God’s kingdom through teaching our kids.

     Teachers must be professing members of NBCRC.

     Teachers may teach every week or every other week as works best in your schedule.

     Books, supplies, and training are all provided to anyone interested in teaching.

     Note—If there is a class you would like to teach that is not listed, let Jill know as some teachers are flexible in the grades they teach.  If any current teachers would rather have one of these grades/groups above we can make that work too.

     If you are interested in teaching contact Jill von Dobschutz or Becky Sorensen.

     Find us at church, call 616-218-3072, or email ejvondo@yahoo.com.

     Thanks!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, the first month of sabbatical has been a wonderful break. I have been spending lots of time at Calvin's library digging up information for the book I am working on.  I have drafts for three chapters so far and am working on a fourth one this week. Deirdre and I have had more opportunities to do things together also. Thank you once again for this gift!
Yours in Christ, Pastor Aaron
The Education Committee is looking for volunteers to be 3-Point Leaders for this upcoming school year.  They are looking for individuals or couples who would be willing to work with the youth of our church.  This is a wonderful opportunity to help prepare our youth to live their lives for Christ.  Is God calling you? Please contact Walt Horinga if you are willing to help with this ministry.
A Cadet Counselor is needed.  If you would be interested in working with our Cadets, please contact John Bouwkamp.
Remember to invite someone to the upcoming Block Party by giving them one of the postcards which were in your mailboxes.
If there is anyone who is interested in becoming a Children in Worship leader/teacher, please let Mary Scharphorn know.  You will need to be a professing member, approved by the Education Committee, and watch the abuse video.  If there is anyone interested in becoming a helper, please let Mary Scharphorn know.  You will need to have completed the 4th grade and watch the abuse video.  If anyone would like their name removed, also let her know.  Thank you for all your dedication and willingness to help and be part of a fantastic program.  If you have a child attending the Children in Worship program, one or both of the parents will need to be a helper and have watched the abuse video when it is offered in the next few months.
Prayer Shawls are needed.  We are getting low on prayer shawls.  You may either knit or crochet the prayer shawls.  If you have any questions, please contact Bev Horinga.
“A Global Reach for the Kingdom”  There was a letter placed in your mailbox from the Zeeland division of the Bible League International.  Please read this letter carefully and prayerfully consider supporting this effort to provide Bibles, biblical resources and training to people across the globe.  Please respond on or before August 4.  Together, we can strive to end the global Biblical famine and help people meet Jesus and change lives for him! Thank you for making an eternal difference.  Please mail the envelope with your donation or put in Carol Overweg’s mailbox.
Block Party will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm. We need volunteers to help make this a success!!  Help is needed to serve food, monitoring the petting zoo, serving ice cream, and clean up.  Check the sign up sheet on the shelf in the narthex and sign up where you can help.
Ladies: Recently there was a brochure for the Bible League Conference in your mailbox.  Why not start the fall with a day away to be challenged and refreshed?  It is on Friday, September 6 from 9:00 am—4:00 pm at Friendship CRC (190 - 100th St. Byron Center, MI) . The speaker will be Michelle Pillar and Elizabeth Sooy is returning as our song leader.  You can enjoy a lunch at noon or bring your own lunch if you prefer.    Questions? Ask Carol Overweg.
Attention Ladies:  Women’s Wednesday Evening Bible Study will start again this fall and we would love for you to join us!  We plan to use the book Twelve Women of the Bible by Lisa Terkeurst for our study guide and DVD.  There is a sample of the book and a sign up sheet in the narthex so we know how many books to get.  If you have questions, contact Vicky Gruppen.
Attention Ladies:  Women’s Wednesday Evening Bible Study will start again this fall and we would love for you to join us!  We plan to use the book Twelve Women of the Bible by Lisa Terkeurst for our study guide and DVD.  There is a sample of the book and a sign up sheet in the narthex so we know how many books to get.  If you have questions, contact Vicky Gruppen.
Ladies: Recently there was a brochure for the Bible League Conference in your mailbox.  Why not start the fall with a day away to be challenged and refreshed?  It is on Friday, September 6 from 9:00 am—4:00 pm at Friendship CRC (190 - 100th St. Byron Center, MI) . The speaker will be Michelle Pillar and Elizabeth Sooy is returning as our song leader.  You can enjoy a lunch at noon or bring your own lunch if you prefer.    Questions? Ask Carol Overweg
“A Global Reach for the Kingdom”  There is a letter in your mailbox from the Zeeland division of the Bible League International.  Please read this letter carefully and prayerfully consider supporting this effort to provide Bibles, biblical resources and training to people across the globe.  Please respond on or before August 4.  Together, we can strive to end the global Biblical famine and help people meet Jesus and change lives for him! Thank you for making an eternal difference.  Please mail the envelope with your donation or put in Carol Overweg’s mailbox.
Severe Weather Policy:  The congregation is reminded that our policy regarding serve weather is as follows:  If there is a Tornado Watch in effect two hours prior to a scheduled worship service or meeting, that service or meeting will be cancelled.  A cancellation notice will be put on the church’s Facebook page, on TV stations Channel 8 and Channel 13, and Council will also attempt to notice their district members by phone.
REQUESTED EVENTS:
Come and join the first annual BCS  Blueberry Bash! Bring your family, friends and containers for this fun blueberry picking experience that helps Borculo Christian School! The days are July 24th and 29th from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm (weather permitting).  Located on Barry Street between 144th and 152nd  - just look for the signs!  The blueberries are Bluecrop and the price is by donation!  Don’t miss out on getting some delicious berries!
 Thought for the week:
Faith is like Wi-Fi, it’s invisible but it has the power to connect you to what you need.
