-All area CRC members are invited to join the delegates from the two synods (CRC and RCA) for "All for the Sake of the Gospel", a community wide worship service tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship at Grand Rapids Christian High School, 2300 Plymouth Ave. SE, Grand Rapids.  Dr. Ajoy Kumar Lama, the Words of Hope and Back to God Ministries International director for South Asia, will provide the message based on 1 Corinthians 9:22-23. 

 

-Right to Life of Holland Area (607 Heritage Court, Holland, MI 49423) invites you to come on June 14 at 7:30 pm to hear Mary Verwys, founder of Garden of Hope, a ministry that works on the sidewalk in front of an abortion clinic in Grand Rapids.  She will be sharing about the work of Garden of Hope and stories of LIFE.  Followed by refreshments of root beer floats.  For more information or to let us know you would like to attend, call 616-396-1037.

The Bible League is celebrating their 80th Anniversary!  The Bible League serves in over 40 countries providing God’s Word through Project Philip Bible studies, church planter training, and Bible based literacy.  Over 800 million Bibles and biblical resources have reached people who are eager to understand and believe the Gospel.  We will be celebrating with this ministry today with a video that will be shown during the morning service and cake following the morning service.  Pray for this ministry as it continues to bless people throughout the world.

Ten large print ESV Bibles have been purchased.  They are on the top shelf of the bookcase which is in the coat rack area on the east side of the narthex.  If you would like to use one of these Bibles during our worship services please feel free to pick one up prior to the service or ask one of the ushers to get one for you.  Please return the Bible to the bookcase when the service is ended or hand the Bible to an Elder on your way out of the sanctuary.    

 

Last Sunday, May 20, new Officebearers were selected.  The following men were chosen:

The Bible League is celebrating 80 years!  The Bible League serves in over 40 countries providing God’s Word through Project Philip Bible studies, church planter training, and Bible based literacy.  Over 800 million Bibles and biblical resources have reached people who are eager to understand and believe the Gospel.  We will be celebrating with this ministry on Sunday, June 3 with a video that will be shown during the morning service and cake following the morning service.  Pray for this ministry as it continues to bless people throughout the world.

Synod 2018 (June 7-14):  The CRC Synod and the RCA General Synod will hold joint meetings on the campus of Calvin College beginning on June 7.  All area CRC members are invited to join the delegates from the two synods for "All for the Sake of the Gospel", a community-wide worship service on June 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship, 2300 Plymouth Ave. SE, Grand Rapids.  Dr. Ajoy Kumar Lama, the Words of Hope and Back to God Ministries International director for South Asia, will provide the message based on 1 Corinthians 9:22-23.  Keep Synod 2018 in your prayers as plans are being made and the delegates are preparing to attend.

 

REQUESTED ANNOUNCEMENTS:

-A Memorial Day Service will be held at Blendon Township Cemetery on Monday, May 28  at 10:30 am.  Pastor Aaron will be leading the service.  In case of rain, the ceremonies will be  held in the Tyler Street Fire Station, located 1/4 mile west of the cemetery.  Feel free to bring your lawn chairs!

-Start your family’s summer with Kids’ Day 2018!  Jehovah Jireh Ministries is holding it’s 9th annual Kids’ Day event on June 9 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds.  Come out for an affordable fun time of games, food activities, and entertainment.  All proceeds  will benefit the Jehovah Jireh Ministries, a food and clothing ministry located in Hudsonville.

A Special Prayer Meeting is going to be held at First Allendale CRC on Thursday, May 24 at 7:00 pm.  All members of the congregations of the Zeeland Classis Churches are encouraged to attend this prayer meeting.  We will be seeking God’s direction for our Classis and her congregations.  Over the past few decades there has been a decline in our membership and we want to pray into this trend and seek God’s leading into the future.
