Outreach is planning two serve/mission trips.  If you plan to go on either the Summer or the Mexico Serve Trip, please meet in the sanctuary after the morning service to finalize participation.

The first one is June 22-29, 2019.  We will work with World Renew to help with recovery from hurricanes and flooding. Most work will be home repair which can be anything from mucking out a home to roofing, painting or drywall. We are looking at two locations right now, West Virginia and North Carolina. There is a possibility of  closer locations if World Renew has other work sites that come up.  This trip is open to anyone in High school and older.

Second trip is January 25-February 1, 2020.  We will go to Mexico to work with Ben & Amy Meyer. Most of our time will be spent connecting with the new church plant, New Life Church, that Ben and his co-worker are involved with. Some possible ideas at this time are: prayer ministry, construction, sports camp, English camp, music camp or VBS. This trip is open to anyone 18 years and older. We are limited to 10-12 people for this trip.

The Middle School Youth Group cannot wait to serve you on February 16 at our Sweetheart Dinner!  Today is the final day to make your reservations, so go to the church basement to choose your food and make your reservation.  We hope to see you there!

Tonight is the final evening service exchange for the sermon series “All Things for Him” based on Romans 11:36 and Colossians 3:17 and the specialties of five area pastors of Classis Zeeland.  This evening we welcome Rev. Stephen Terpstra from Borculo CRC as he leads our evening service.  Before God called Rev. Terpstra into the ministry he earned a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music degree in organ performance, and spent 13 years as a director of music.  Through his experiences he has thought deeply about a theology of the arts and their place in the life of the Christian and the worship of the church.

Outreach is planning two serve/mission trips. The sign up for either trip will be open until Sunday, February 17. If you have questions about either trip, please talk to Nancy Miedema.

January 27, 2019  (Cadet Sunday)

WELCOME to worship and fellowship with the family of God.

—Today is Cadet Sunday and our Cadets will be taking part in our morning worship service.

The Cadet theme this year is “Be A Blessing” based on 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV) - “And God is

able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will

abound in every good work.”  Pray for the Cadets that they will continue to grow in the Lord

as they learn to be a blessing to themselves, to those around them, to their church, and to the

community.  Pray for the Cadet Counselors as they are examples to the boys and teach and

show them how to live for the Lord.

—Welcome to Rev. Mark Neymeiyer from Rusk CRC who will be leading our evening service.

Pastor Aaron is at Beaverdam CRC tonight.

Tonight we continue with the evening service sermon series “All Things for Him” based on Romans 11:36 and Colossians 3:17 and the specialties of five area pastors of Classis Zeeland.  The pastors plan to exchange pulpits for the evening service from January 6 to February 3 and each pastor will preach on a specialty they have and approach it in a Christian way.

This evening we welcome Rev. Mark Neymeiyer from Rusk CRC as he leads our evening service.  Before God called Rev. Neymeiyer into the ministry he spent 13 years in the corporate world at CaseIH in Racine, Wisconsin.  A move back to Michigan led him to start a new family business from scratch as a CaseIH equipment dealership over 12 years.  He has learned through his past business experience and now 14 years of full time ministry that our life as redeemed Christians has an incredible impact on how we conduct business.

Cadet Snow Derby will be held Saturday, February 2 at 8:30 am.  We will meet at the Horinga Farm (8315 Polk Street).  Dress appropriately — we will be outside all morning.  Dinner served.  Bring a can of vegetable or noodle soup, a cup, and a spoon.

In honor of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, we are asking our church members to support Lakeshore Pregnancy Center by filling baby bottles with change, cash and/or checks. These baby bottles help LPC provide services free of charge to approximately 4,500 men, women and children each year who are facing unplanned pregnancies.  If you would like to take one to fill and return to church by February 10,  you can find some downstairs and in the narthex.  Please contact Pam Driesenga with any questions. Thank you for your support.
