Summer Fun Mash Ups!!  Amplify! and 3-Point members come join together at church for a fun time of outdoor activity.  We will meet from 7:00-9:00 pm and some activities will include - volleyball, basketball, pickleball, Newcomb, and maybe 9 square..  Bring your own water or refreshment.  This week we will meet on Wednesday, August 4.  We hope to see you there!!  Upcoming dates are Tuesday, August 10; Wednesday, August 18; and Tuesday, August 24.

 

Robin will be out of the church office this week.  If you have an announcement to put into the bulletin, please leave your information on church’s answering machine at 616-895-6434 or send an email to office@nbcrc.org.   

 

A Preschool Sunday School teacher is needed for the upcoming school year.  This can be weekly or bi-weekly.  All of the books and activities are provided and pretty easy to teach from. Please let Jill vonDobschutz or Becky Sorensen know if you are interested in teaching.

 

Next Sunday, August 8, during our morning service, Riley Woodwyk-Reiffer will reaffirm his faith and Minka Woodwyk-Reiffer, daughter of Riley & Michaela, will be baptized. 

 

Next Sunday, August 8, we plan to celebrate Hank Klinger’s 80th birthday with cake and fellowship following the morning worship service.

 

Amplify! and 3-Point are having a pool party on Friday, August 13.  This will take place at Mike & Nancy Miedema’s home from 6:30-10:30 pm.  We will be serving dinner.  Please sign up on the sheet in back of church by Sunday, August 8.  

 

We are looking forward to joining with our neighboring church again this year for the Block Party on August 21, 5:00-7:00pm.  Come join us for an evening of good company and tasty food. There will be a petting zoo, barrel train and firetrucks for the kids, and a car show with prizes for others! We look forward to seeing you there!

 

Outreach will need the congregation's help with the Block Party. We will need help serving dinner and ice cream, drivers and monitors for the train rides, monitors for the petting zoo and help with cleanup. Please sign the sheet on the shelf if you can help out.

  All volunteers are asked to come to one of the following meetings

       Sunday, August 29 (following the morning worship service)

       Sunday, September 12 (following the morning service) 

       Monday, September 13 at 7:00 pm. 

 

   If you are a volunteer for one of the following groups, you will only need to attend the first part of the meeting as we review the ’Code of Ethics’ and you review and update your volunteer form.  You will be excused before the PowerPoint begins:     

—Sunday School  (teachers, substitute teachers, music leaders, Christmas program committee members)

   —Children in Worship (leaders and helpers)

   —Nursery helpers

   —VBS leaders and helpers

 

  If you are a volunteer for one of the following groups, you will need to stay for the whole meeting as we review the ‘Code of Ethics’, you review and update your volunteer forms, and we watch the Abuse Prevention & Response:

Tonight we will be joining North Blendon Reformed Church for a combined service.  We will meet at North Blendon Reformed Church in their sanctuary and the service will begin at 5:30 pm.  Pastor Ron Lugten will have a brief meditation and the last half of the service will be ministry of music by the Baribeau Family.  A free-will offering will be taken during the service for the Baribeau Family.  Let us join together for this special time of worshipping with our neighbors.

Dates:  June 21-25, 2021

Time:  5:30-7:30 pm

Ages:  3 years old - just completed 4th grade

VBS registration forms are in the narthex, on VBS table downstairs, and also on our website!

Put completed registration forms in basket upstairs or on VBS table downstairs

If kids are not pre-registered, they can register at VBS on Monday night

VBS t-shirts are in mailboxes for all pre-registered kids

There will be a brief meeting TODAY in the sanctuary after the morning service for all VBS volunteers
