Evening Worship Service:  The service begins at 5:30 pm.  Pastors Aaron and Ron are preaching a series of messages from Psalms titled, Songs by Which to Live.  This week Pastor Aaron will be leading our evening service and will preach on Psalm 51 and the message is “Create In Me a Clean Heart, O God”.  We will be worshiping in the Fellowship Room of the Reformed Church.  We hope to see you there!

 

We are excited to announce North Blendon’s first Sport Clay Shoot to benefit Family Life Center!  It will take place at Blendon Pines Gun Club on October 3 from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm.  Tickets will be available in advance for $45 until September 28, $50 after that.  Each ticket includes a meal, a round of 50 sporting clays, and raffle tickets for gun giveaways and prizes.  Registration will be limited due to capacity regulations.  Call or text Pam Driesenga @ 616-886-0269 to reserve your spot.

 

Volunteers and Desserts are needed for the Sport Clay Shoot!!  We need volunteers to help out the day of the shoot and we also need desserts donated.  If you would like to help out with any of these needs, please sign the sheet on the shelf in the narthex.  Desserts should be made in a disposable dish and brought to church by Friday evening, October 2.

 

Coming Soon — A new option for tithing.  We are setting up an online banking option for those who prefer to give that way.  Watch your mailboxes for details.

 

Pig-in-the-Blankets will be made again on Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30 pm in the church basement. If you would like to help out, sign the sheet on the shelf in the narthex.  It only takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours to make them.  Eight people are needed to help out.

Women’s Evening Bible Study — We didn’t have a chance to finish our study in March so we would like to finish now.  We were studying “Twelve Women of a the Bible”.  You don’t need to have the book to participate.  Join us Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 pm to finish our study and decide what we would like to do this year. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 pm.  Questions contact Rosie Hutson at (616) 481-5418.

 

Council has decided to begin church’s education and youth activities on and after Sunday, October 18.  This includes Children in Worship, Sunday School, Catechism, Cadets, Gems, Middle School Youth Group and 3-Point Youth Group. Masks are suggested but not required for these activities, and distancing and spacing will be observed as much as possible.

 

We hope to give those who need to update their Abuse Response forms or who need to watch the Abuse Response Power Point the opportunity to do that soon, likely next Sunday, the 27th, or October 4th, and possibly another date or two.  Please watch for further information.

Allendale Love I.N.C. Golf Fundraiser will be held on October 9 at Pigeon Creek Golf Course.  Tee times are between 11 am and 2 pm.  Each golfer will get a to-go lunch to eat on the course, 18 holes of golf, and a cart.  Cost is $60 per golfer.  Sign up by either going to allendalelove.org or calling the office at 616-895-5683.

Congregation:  As we prepare for activities for the youth of NBCRC we are looking for input from you. In your mailbox is a survey for those who bring young people to our church groups.  Council is gathering information to decide when and how to begin our programs.  Please take time to fill out a survey and return to it to church.  You may leave the survey anonymous or you can sign your name on it.  Please turn your survey in by September 13.  There is a box in the narthex for surveys.  Thank you.  If you misplaced your survey or if you need one, please contact Robin Fennema (616-895-6434).

 

We are looking for new custodian(s) for our church.  There is a job description on the shelf in the narthex.  Please take one of the sheets and if you are interested in this position or have any questions, please contact Jeff Glashower (292-1198). 

 

The Produce Stand is out and ready for use!  If you have extra produce, please place it in the stand for others to take.  If you see something in the stand you can use, please take it and enjoy!  Let’s pray this ministry blesses others in the community.
